Twiggy...

As the Twiggy image is just a headshot, it is the make up and pose that is the most important.
We will over exagerate the eye make up, using bottom eyelashes, which are iconic for Twiggy.
The hair will be parted and combed over flat, and the poses will include the model looking into the camera, with a sort of sombre look on her face.

Madonna...

For our Madonna image, we are concentrating on her style...the iconic cone bra outfit she continuously wore, rather than a photograph taken of her.
This gives us more freedom on the shoot to use several poses, as the main focus will be on the outfit.

Most of the pictures I found of Madonna wearing the 'Cone Bra' were of her performing, but we could use the Cone Bra outfit and combine it with poses from other edgy photoshoots.

I have uploaded some images below of the outfit we are going to recreate, and images of poses we could use for Madonna.

Marilyn Monroe Style

Marilyn's Iconic Halterneck white Dress...
We are going to use a white dress with a modern twist to give our marilyn picture an updated edge.
With our outfit being the twist, we will be able to recreate the pose of the dress blowing up more closely, so it will still be recognisable as Marilyn Monroe but with our spin on it.

Audrey Hepburn's Style:

I found these images showing Audrey Hepburn's style. They will help us make sure we have everything we need to create the Audrey look at the photoshoot tomorrow. As long as there is a black dress and pearls/a statement necklace, then we have the essentials!

Different Audrey Hepburn Looks/Poses

So we're not just copying the photo of Audrey Hepburn, we could use some of these other images as inspiration for different poses/looks. We could just make our picture in colour to give it a modern twist.

Madonna - Cone Bra

I've been looking into places where we can buy cone bra's and nowhere is really standing out to me. The ones i've found on the internet seem very tacky!

The iconic photo is of Madonna wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier corset, gold, with a cone shaped bra.
This is the type of costume we need for the iconic photoshoot.

So i started looking into solutions. I thought how we could make some cones, and attach them to the inside of a gold top, or how we could make the cones and paint them gold (preferably with spray paint to give an even finish) and attach them to a gold top.
We would have to make the cones out of card so they were strong enough to last the entire photo shoot.

Problems

We have found a model on Model Mayhem but she can't make the time slot that we have with Dave so i have emailed Dave trying to sort the situation out, However this is not working as we would be just messing everyone else around with different times so we are going to work with the problem.

Francesca is a possibility to be used for the twiggy photograph.

Tomorrow Melissa is going to go to Smiffy's fancy dress shop to try and find the iconic Madonna cone breasts for the shoot, and tonight i will be going to Harriets so sort out the outfit hair and make up for the Marilyn Photograph.

We have been on Model Mayhem and been in touch with a few models who are interested in working with us on the shoot.

MODEL NEWS

I have spoken to Harriet and she said that she will come to our shoot thursday and model for the Marilyn photographs, and Francesca said she will also model for our Twiggy photographs. So we are just looking for two more models now.

Charlotte

Outfits, Hair & Make-up

Twiggy- As this is a facial shot we have decided that we are going to use a jumper for the clothing then just focus on the scraped back 'gel look' hair and the defined make-up as twiggy has very defined eyes and eyelashes.

Marilyn- We are going to use a modern day version of the iconic white dress, the hair will be an up do and curled at the front, make up will be the bright red lips and the iconic beauty spot on the face.

Madonna- We are looking at possible fancy dress shops to find the cone breasts the hair and make up will be done accordingly to Maddonna's stlye.

Audrey- 'The little black dress' will be used but a modern day version to make the photograph our own, and the hair will be an up do using the prop cigarette holder which is iconic.

Final 4 images that we are going to make our own

Poses

This is an article i found about trends that are coming back into trend this season. This particular trend has been influenced by Audrey Hepburn. This shows how the icons still have some hold in the fashion industry.

I found this good article in Vogue about Films and Actresses that our influencing designers today.
Great for us to look at when we are trying to imitate  the style of our chosen icons in a more modern version.

These are some images of studio based shoots and advertsiements from Vogue and Look magazine. I have been looking at these to try and get some inspiration for our shoot as we plan to do a sudio based shoot. I think all these images contain a great use of styling as well as good poses and posture. The is also a great use of colour in these images something really important we have to think about for the pictures.

These are some really good photos of Audrey Hepburn from a book i have. They could all be potentially great shots that we could try and imitate in our own shoot. Most being Studio bases shots which is great for us as this is what we was considering doing.

I particually love Audrey Hepburn and have alot of images of her in my room. These are just a few images I took to show some of her iconic poses.

Iconic Images that have been re-created...

Photographers like Rankin have recreated several famous images originally created by Cecil Beaton. Below are a few examples of the old image and its recreation.

Shoot Ideas

When we was talking about some ideas for the shoot in Mondays lesson we discussed that we could use the studio for our shoot as it would well for the type of images we wanted to recreate. From doing some research i think that this would still be the best idea to do as most of the images i have looked into dont really feature many locations.
I have also noted some ideas for the clothing and think that the Idea of Fashion Icons that we have decided to go with would be easy to style and find suitbale clothing as many vintage shops will sell what we arte looking for and we could find simple dresses on the high street aswell as using our own clothing.
